Fieldmaster.ai vs. GoCanvas
A GoCanvas Alternative for the Process Behind the Form
GoCanvas, part of the Nemetschek Group since 2024, is a strong self-serve tool for turning paper forms into mobile forms. Fieldmaster.ai is for when the form is only the first step, and the process behind it has to run too.
Side by side
Fieldmaster.ai vs. GoCanvas
Fieldmaster.ai runs the process behind the form, and we build it for you. GoCanvas is the quicker start for do-it-yourself mobile forms with ready-made integrations.

The whole process
From the Form to the Invoice
A completed form usually starts something: a repair, a material request, a stock issue, a charge to a client. In many operations that next step is handled somewhere else, in email, spreadsheets and the ERP.
Fieldmaster.ai keeps it in one process. A finding becomes a task, the task needs material, the request goes through approval, stock is issued against the job, and the finished work is ready to invoice with photo proof attached. Field, office, clients and vendors each see their part, and the dashboards show all of it.

In practice
One Form, Followed Through
The pattern from our bin inspection app, live with a city waste contractor’s supervisors.
Scan and record
The supervisor scans the bin number, answers the checklist and adds photos and a voice note.
Fixed on the spot
What can be fixed there and then is fixed, and recorded with after photos.
Task assigned
Anything left open becomes a task for the right crew, with the photos and location attached.
Office sees it
Inspections, open tasks and supervisor targets show on a live dashboard.
Delivered, not do-it-yourself
We Build It. You Run It.
With a self-serve tool, your team becomes the app builder: forms, logic, user access and every change after launch. That suits forms well. As the process grows into approvals, stock and billing, it becomes a bigger job.
With Fieldmaster.ai, we build the app around your process, train your trainers, and stay on after go-live. When the process changes, tell us, and the change usually lands in days.

A fair comparison
When GoCanvas Is the Right Choice

Start a free trial, pick a form template or upload your own PDF form, and your team can begin building right away.
You only need the form and its PDF
An inspection, a work order or a daily report is the whole process. Nothing has to follow the completed form: no approvals, stock or invoice.
You have the people to build it
Your team has the time to create and keep changing its own forms, and to connect them to tools such as Salesforce, Procore or QuickBooks through ready-made integrations.

FAQ
Questions About GoCanvas and Fieldmaster.ai
Who owns GoCanvas, and has its name changed?
The product is still called GoCanvas. The Nemetschek Group acquired the company in July 2024, and it now appears as “GoCanvas, a Nemetschek Company”. Device Magic and SiteDocs are separate products from the same company.
Does Fieldmaster.ai do mobile forms too?
Yes. Mobile forms take photos, video, GPS, signatures and barcode scans, and AI fills the form from a voice note and checks the photos. The difference is what happens next: approvals, tasks, stock and billing in the same app.
Can we keep GoCanvas for our forms?
Yes. If your forms run well there, keep them. Fieldmaster.ai can take on the process around them, such as approvals, stock, purchasing and invoicing, and connect to other systems through APIs, webhooks and Excel import and export.
Do we pay for every worker?
No. Fieldmaster.ai is priced on the work the app handles, such as items managed, journeys, purchase orders, permits or forms per month. Field crews, supervisors, clients and vendors are all included.
How long does it take to switch?
A typical app takes 10 to 18 working days to build. You can start with one process, such as one form and the tasks and approvals it triggers, and add more later on the same platform and users.
Who changes the app when our process changes?
We do. Changes after go-live usually land in days, made by the people who built your app, and support comes directly from them, in Muscat, Ajman and Cochin.
Do you work with companies outside the GCC?
Yes. Most of our work so far is in the GCC, and we take on companies in other regions too. The same team builds and supports your app, from Muscat, Ajman and Cochin.
